BSC (KINESIOLOGY- WESTERN), MSC (HEALTH AND AGING- WESTERN), MSCPT (PHYSICAL THERAPY- QUEEN’S), PHYSIOTHERAPY RESIDENT
Carly’s physiotherapy interests involve helping patients of all ages and abilities achieve their top athletic potential whether it be through injury prevention or injury rehabilitation. She uses both hands-on treatment and exercise therapy to help patients reach their goals.
Carly’s lifelong passion and participation in alpine ski racing and competitive soccer has given her an appreciation for the physical demands of sport, and the importance of sport-specific rehabilitation.
Carly is a Huntsville native who is excited to be returning home to practice and to continue to embrace the Muskoka lifestyle through her love of the outdoors. She credits her involvement in Huntsville sports for pushing her to pursue a career in physiotherapy.
After completing her degree in Kinesiology with a focus on athletic therapy, Carly explored the world of research. Her Master’s thesis focused on Masters athletes and the ability for older adults to maintain physical fitness, and is currently in the process of being published. She then went on to pursue her physiotherapy degree, which she just recently completed receiving top academic honours.
Carly believes in individualized treatment programs that combine a hands-on, manual therapy approach with personalized exercise programs. She has interest in the practice of “prehab” for injury prevention through identification and correction of movement faults, as well a passion for treating injured patients who are eager to return to their active lifestyles.
Carly is always pursuing opportunities to learn more about her profession, and recently received her diploma for level one manual and manipulative physiotherapy to help better treat her patients.
Michelle Fraser is her acting supervisor during this required residency period.
