Sports Medicine Physician, Co-Owner
Dr. Trenholm has particular interests in endurance sports, however, with a Masters of Science in Biomechanics (the study and physics of human movement), he has an eye for looking at the body as the sum of many moving parts. He specializes in gait (running) analysis, concussion management, as well as shoulder and lower extremity injuries.
Being active on a daily basis himself in the sport of triathlon gives him a keen understanding of endurance sports with respect to training, racing and of course injuries that go along with endurance sports and their rehabilitation based on the most up to date techniques.
Dr. Barber is a Chiropractor that sets himself from others in his field. He operates mostly on an injury basis, where he will work diligently to identify the underlying problem that is causing symptoms, and work both with soft tissue management techniques (acupuncture, shockwave therapy, functional range rehabilitation) as well as joint adjustments as they are required in order to help patients regain their functional abilities and return to the activities they love.
Dr. Barber is a long distance multisport athlete, having participated in ultramarathons, Ironman triathlons, and long distance cycling events. So, he understands the demands that physical activity has on your body, and the desire to keep active.
Sports Medicine Physician
Coaching high school runners for a decade nurtured an interest in sports medicine. Dr. Mikhail had an opportunity to complete a two year Diploma in Sports Medicine through the International Olympic Committee. This provided him with the opportunity to consolidate his knowledge, help athletes and potentially provide medical care at future Olympic Games through the IOC.
Although Dr. Mikhail enjoys seeing a wide variety of sport and exercise medical concerns, he particularly enjoys working with runners and endurance athletes.
Orthopedic surgeon, specializing in knees and shoulders
Dr. Litchfield is an Orthopedic Surgeon whose primary location of practice is at the University of Western Ontario. His primary area of clinical interest is the management of activity related injuries and conditions of the shoulder and knee.
Dr. Litchfield grew up in Huntsville, but moved away to pursue his medical aspirations, which eventually landed him at UWO, where he is the Medical Director of the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic; a clinic that provides world class care to athletes of all levels. Despite living in London, Ontario, he has maintained strong ties to our community as he has a cottage here and is actively involved at Hidden Valley Ski Resort. He is a physician member to the Canadian Alpine Ski time, and has gone to the Olympics several times a member of the core medical team.
Carly’s physiotherapy interests involve helping patients of all ages and abilities achieve their top athletic potential, whether it be through injury prevention or injury rehabilitation. She uses both hands-on treatment and exercise therapy to help patients reach their goals.
Carly’s lifelong passion and participation in alpine ski racing and competitive soccer has given her an appreciation for the physical demands of sport, and the importance of sport-specific rehabilitation.
Dr. MATTHEW DISTON
H.BA (KIN), D.C., ACU PROVIDER
Dr. Diston graduated at the top of his class in 2018 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College after graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a Honors BA with specialization in Kinesiology.
As a Chiropractor, he has a particular interest in using medical electro-acupuncture in order to increase motor recruitment for a variety of different purposes. Such purposes could include helping post-operative patients strengthen particular muscle groups, improve an athletes motor recruitment and movement patterns, or decreasing pain sensitivity in order to create a more positive healing environment.
Registered Massage Therapist
RMT, BA (Hons.) Soc., CPTN-CPT, CMTO
As a registered massage therapist and personal trainer, Mark has a thorough understanding of human anatomy and physiology and knows how to optimize human performance. A natural interest in working with athletes has followed, and he is currently working through his candidacy to become a certified sports massage therapist with the Canadian Sport Massage Therapist Association (CSMTA).
He graduated with honors from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2018 and is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). His training has given him the tools and practice needed to satisfy the needs of a diverse clientele in a safe and effective manner.
Mark has treated many athletes across a wide range of sports at the recreational, collegiate, and elite levels. He has worked with swimmers, wrestlers, cyclists, runners, hockey players, and more, and is interested in expanding his exposure to different athletic disciplines.
Front office administrator and customer support representative
Kandis has been our front office administrator since early 2016 and manages our day to day operations.
She is an avid outdoors enthusiast, and particularly enjoys hiking, snowboarding, kayaking and swimming. Kandis is also involved with personalized strength training.
