Sam Baker-Pauley

Physiotherapy Resident

B. Kinesiology, MPT Physiotherapy

Sam Baker-Pauley grew up in Sundridge, Ontario, where his passion for sport and exercise sparked a lifelong interest in movement and performance. He pursued his Bachelor of Kinesiology at Wilfrid Laurier University before completing his Master of Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario.

Driven by curiosity about how the human body moves—and the barriers that can stand in the way—Sam chose physiotherapy as a career that allows him to combine his knowledge of exercise with his values of empathy and perseverance. He is passionate about helping people overcome pain and injury so they can get back to the activities that bring them joy.

Sam’s clinical interests include sport and athletic injury management, functional exercise prescription, manual therapy, post-concussion care, post-surgical rehabilitation, and running-related injuries. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, working through an athletic injury, or striving to move without pain, Sam brings a supportive, evidence-based approach to each session.

Outside of the clinic, Sam enjoys running, golf, coaching and playing hockey, ultimate frisbee, camping, canoeing, and playing guitar. He has also achieved personal milestones as a runner, completing the Toronto Half Marathon in 2024 and the Ottawa Marathon in 2025.

Sam believes in creating a positive and empowering rehabilitation experience where clients feel heard, supported, and motivated. As he often says, borrowing from Hippocrates and Carol Welch:

“The greatest medicine of all is teaching people how not to need it.”
“Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person’s physical, emotional, and mental states.”

With Sam, you can expect a partnership that puts your goals first, blending hands-on care, exercise, and education to help you recover, build confidence, and thrive.
